Introducing our speaker:

Jackie Meyer

Professional Role: Jackie Meyer is the Accounting Manager for the Energy Storage business at Tesla. In her current role, she is responsible for the inventory to cost team which manages standard cost, manufacturing variances, monthly close and reporting to management. Jackie joined Tesla 6 years ago in the early life of Tesla’s storage business and built many of the processes and reports used today. The storage business generated nearly $4B of revenue in 2022.

Early Career: Jackie started her accounting career with Eaton Corporation in 2005 and held positions with increasing responsibility during her 11-year tenure.

Educational Background: Jackie attended the University of Texas in Austin for 2.5 years after graduating high school and studied Computer Science. In 2001, she changed her major and school after a difficult programming assignment helped her realize she was pursuing a field she didn’t enjoy. Jackie transferred to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and graduated with a degree in accounting. She became a CMA in 2013 and completed her MBA in 2019. Even though management accounting was one of Jackie’s least
favorite accounting courses, she has loved working in the manufacturing sector. She enjoys the challenge of assigning costs to products and translating data into useful information to help the business make informed decisions.

Personal Life: Jackie met her fiancé while working at Eaton and they both currently work at Tesla. They have a 2.5-year-old daughter who has given two introverts a great excuse for not going out much. Jackie is an avid reader and loves to camp and hike when she has free time. She was born and raised in Nebraska but has lived in Minnesota, Iowa, Nevada, Texas and briefly in Australia.
