Dear Austin Area Chapter Members,
It is my privilege to step into the role of President of the IMA Austin Area Chapter for the 2026–2027 fiscal year. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me and in your incoming board — I do not take it lightly, and I am genuinely excited for the year ahead.
Let me start with a warm welcome to our new Board of Directors and committee leaders who raised their hands to serve. They bring energy, fresh ideas, and a real commitment to making this chapter a place worth showing up for. I am grateful for each of them, and I hope you will take a moment to introduce yourself at our next event.
Our focus for the year comes down to four things:
• Professional growth — CPE sessions genuinely worth your evening, plus support for members pursuing and maintaining the CMA.
• Connection — more chances to meet the people doing the same work you do, right here in Austin.
• The next generation — reaching students and early-career professionals through campus outreach and mentorship. This year we will have our first FMAA and CMA Scholarship. If you’re a student, get involved with the chapter and be sure to not only ask for more info, but apply.
• Your voice — a program shaped by what you tell us you need.
We already have several events planned for the year, and I think you will like what is coming. But the calendar is not finished — and it should not be. Tell us which topics you want covered, which speakers you would like to hear, and what timing actually works for your schedule. Better still, join a committee. The best chapter experiences tend to belong to the people who help build them.
Whether you have been a member for twenty years or you joined last week, there is a place for you here. Come to an event. Bring a colleague. Reach out to me or any board member at austin@imachapter.org — we would love to hear from you.
Here is to an engaging, energizing year together.
Warmly,
Gloria Edokpa
President, IMA Austin Area Chapter
